Nelson’s top properties revealed in the House of the Year

Of the 30 entries judged, 24 were residential entries and 6 were commercial entries. Of the medals awarded; there were 9 Category winners, 12 Gold Awards, 10 silver and 5 bronze.

A striking three bedroom home in Takaka, an impressive renovation in Moana and the Nelson High District Court redevelopment have been n ames this year’s top Nelson properties, winning Supreme Awards in the Nelson Region Master Builders Placemakers 2011 House of the Year and RMB Commercial Projects Awards.

Golden Bay Builders in Takaka took out the Placemakers Supreme Award for the House of the Year for its build of a striking home in the New Homes $600,000 – 1 million category. The home also won the Placemakers Heart of the Home Kitchen Award and the Placemakers Bathroom Excellence Award.

Mainzeal Property and Construction Limited were awarded the RMB Commercial Project of the Year as well as the Industrial and Infrastructure Project for the Nelson Hight District Court Redevelopment.

Foothold Developments Supreme Award for the Placemakers  Renovation of the Year

Foothold Developments Building Projects Limited won the Placemakers Supreme Award for the Renovation of the Year and the Renovation over $500,000 category. The home also won the Gib Living Award.

Hope Community Church

The winning builders were recognised by members of the Nelson Registered Master Builders and the local building industry, at Hope Community Church on Friday the 8th of July.

There were 12 Gold Award Winners from the Nelson Region, which will now be assessed alongside Gold Award winners from the other 14 regions of the competition, to find the National Gold Reserve finalists, which will be announced in eary September.

National category winners, Placemakers Supreme Awards for the Renovation of the Year and the House of the Year, and the RMB Commercial Project of the Year will be announced at a gala dinner in Auckland in November.
